Arne designed Demijohn, an intuitive continuation of Vertigo Bird's pursuit of transforming everyday objects into sources of light. Demijohn's inspiration comes from bottles; the largest and most deliciously curved ones were most often filled with intoxicatingly delicious liquids, refracting the late afternoon light of lazy summer days and ending up as a twinkle in the eyes of those who enjoyed the contents of the bottle.
A simple shape, composed of two ubiquitous materials, wood and metal , seem to change throughout the day and only fully reveal their true form once night falls. This is when the fixture appears in a mixture of soft, warm light on natural wood. The use of thin sheets of natural veneer makes each lamp slightly different from the others.
