The history of MVV begins in the 1970s. This new hanging lamp is the first hanging lamp designed by Manuel Valls Vergés, one of the most outstanding Spanish architects of the time and for 15 years the partner of Jose Antonio Coderch, with whom he implemented such significant projects as the Ugalde house near Barcelona. The name MVV reflects Vergés' initials to express his authorship of this unique lamp. This was what his grandson, also an architect, and his partners in the Two-bo studio wanted. Pablo, María and Alberto saved this lamp 45 years later. Marset, acting as a bridge back in time, took the original design - an octagon with overlapping sheets - and updated it with a double skin: cherry wood on the outside of the sheets and white on the inside to improve light quality. The dimensions are the same as the original - 45 cm - and the interior structure, which was originally made of iron, is now made of polycarbonate, making it lighter. Thanks to the use of wood, the MVV lamp provides exceptionally warm light. A subtle, rational and extremely geometric lamp - MVV resembles a construction site where direct downward light complements the indirect light that penetrates the sheets. A design that, although timeless, reflects the constructive logic of that period and evokes many memories.
