Product description
The A201 hanging lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1952 for the Säynätsalo town hall library in central Finland. Composed of formed sheet steel, the A201 pendant lamp has a sculptural character; its beauty can be appreciated whether it is on or off. The light emerging from the lower and upper parts of the lampshade creates a beautiful halo, typical of Aalto, who tried to make the artificial light as indirect and soft as possible. The A201 lamp is available in standard white with brass details and in a limited version in dark red, inspired by the triple light variant (A203) hanging above the table in the Aaltos private house in Helsinki.
