A331, nicknamed "The Beehive", is one of Alvar Aalto's most popular lighting designs. Suitable for both homes and public spaces, 'Ula' produces warm, diffused light when switched on, the result of an ingenious design featuring several rows of perforated steel rings. True to its nickname, "Ula" retains its distinctive sculptural appearance even when unlit. It was originally designed for the Finnish University of Jyväskylä in 1953.
