Product description

Volute is a textile hanging lamp. Rakumba collaborates with European designer Sebastian Herkner to redesign the textile lampshade in the Volute lamp. Created in the form of large floor, pendant, table and wall lamps, Volute embodies Sebastian Herkner's characteristic soft geometric shapes and Rakumba's passion for material fixtures. For Volute, Sebastian created a play of volume, reimagining the traditional shade of fabric in a refined, multi-dimensional form. The impressive floor lamps look like luminous totems with curved, geometric surfaces. While most fabric lampshades are designed as cylinders or cones based on simple 2D patterns, Sebastian Herkner created Volute as two softened conical shapes that merge into a surface with complex curvature. The two shells dialogue, creating space for light: they overlap, providing different perspectives and attitudes. The fabric plays with shape, tension and precision.
