GEMA – a tribute to the natural properties of clay, handmade in Portugal. A neat lampshade from the GEMA lighting family made of Engobe ceramics is available in earthy shades: pale pink, sand and charcoal and in three sizes. The surface is rough, as if dipped in sand. The Engobe ceramic dyeing technique closes the surface of open-pore ceramics. During this process, the clay is refined, the lampshade is colored and covered with a thin, liquid clay mineral mass. Engobe is a tribute to the natural properties of clay. The ceramic lampshade surrounds the opaque glass body. It is blown by the mouth and bathes the surroundings with soft light.
