Product description
Pli is a hanging lamp in which the light source becomes a supporting structure: like a needle passing through a thin sheet, it creates and holds in place a series of soft folds, draperies and waves. Created by Felicia Arvid, a young Danish designer on her first foray into the world of lighting, Pli is a lamp that combines form, material and structure in one gesture. In Pli, the light source is a tube containing an LED strip onto which - like a needle into fabric - a very thin perforated sheet can be directly inserted, which creates a series of soft folds, sags and wave-like draping effects. From a two-dimensional element, the diffuser material thus becomes a three-dimensional form, and this light source holds it in place. Light, sinuous and poetic, Pli is available in wood or paper, providing two different lighting effects. In the wooden version, the light is focused up and down, while in the paper version it spreads thanks to an extremely thin sheet of light, which allows it to slightly shine through on the sides of the lamp.
