A family of devices based on minimal geometry: The design focuses on technology and light quality on a clean emitting surface. Discovery is an unprecedented development of a well-known optical principle, achieved thanks to Artemide's technological know-how and deep knowledge of light, which are conveyed through a controlled interaction with matter and a focus on its performance and perceptual properties. The ultralight, rounded aluminum rim hosts an LED strip that injects light into a transparent PMMA surface processed for this purpose. It is a non-invasive element that, completely absent and intangible, becomes perceptible when switched on, thanks to the light outlining its central emitting surface.Almost as if by magic, the interior changes from transparent to full of light, the absence turns into a perfect diffusing emitting surface. Direct and indirect emission gives an all-encompassing and uniform light. This unique result is achieved thanks to the texture of the transparent sheet, processed with micro-scratches so small that they are almost imperceptible when the unit is switched off. Their geometry and layout are carefully calculated to achieve a constant emission over the entire surface. They generate an accurate and punctual light extraction, balancing the flows in relation to the emitting surface and thus providing excellent visual comfort.
