Inspired by B&B Italia Project
B&B Italia founded the B&B Italia Project in 2006. The furniture department for contracts and public spaces was created thanks to the experience gained during many cooperation of the brand with international designers and architects. This experience has allowed B&B to develop a collection of ergonomic, functional and sophisticated furniture designed and constructed to meet the needs of offices, restaurants, hotels and public spaces. High-quality designer furniture such as modular sofas with flexible and modular designs, office chairs and desks meet the needs of modern offices and HO.RE.CA.
Sofas, armchairs and coffee tables: a lounge designed by B&B Italia ProjectB & B Italia Project sofas, sofas and armchairs for the contract sector are aimed at hotels, restaurants and offices. Effective and versatile products are durable, resistant to use and taste evolution, adapting to different contexts thanks to a contemporary and sober style. In the AC Lounge collection, Antonio Citterio reinterprets the classic capitonné, wrapping the seats and backrests of armchairs, sofas and pouffes in a contemporary spirit. David Chipperfield has developed the Posa, a comprehensive and rugged collection of seats that meets stringent requirements while instilling a sense of luxury and sophistication. Jasper Morrison designed Bankside, an armchair and sofa originally conceived for the prestigious Tate Gallery of Modern Art in London, capable of meeting both the needs of the public context and the home space. If it's true that the difference is in the details, many of the B&B Italia furniture makes their way into the Design Collection thanks to subtle modifications that allow them to be used in the contract sector. This is the case of the George sofa by Antonio Citterio, who improved the design of the home collection by redesigning the seat and back cushions to offer a taller, more formal model. Likewise, Jeffrey Bernett's Metropolitan'14 reinterprets the original design, reducing volume and making surfaces more fluid thanks to the integrated seat cushion. The four-arm base becomes more flexible thanks to the surfaces of shiny brushed aluminum, bronzed nickel or black painted chrome. The whole is completed by a series of small tables with HPL laminate tops and furniture accessories such as Dip Double Dip stainless steel bench, sculptural monoliths for indoor and outdoor use. Made by milling, bending and welding, they play the contrast between soft, curved, hollow and protruding forms and more linear elements.
B&B Italia Project and design office The office world is a key sector for the B&B Italia Project collection with high-quality, ergonomic and sophisticated seats, such as the Iuta by Antonio Citterio. This range of swivel armchairs with armrests, chairs and stools uses a technical gray wire mesh shell with aluminum edges. The Sina by Uwe Fischer is a strong personality swivel armchair , combining a polished brushed die-cast aluminum base with four or five spokes and an outer shell of white thermoplastic material, upholstered and covered in fabric or leather. Executive offices are also the subject of projects such as AC Executive, also by Antonio Citterio. It is a complete line of furniture for high-end offices, conference rooms and home offices. Monica Armani has created a Progetto 1 desk, console and multifunctional table system that combines a structure in polished chrome steel with tops made of very clear white lacquered glass, brushed light oak, gray oak or stained fumigated oak.
