Inspired by Haos

HAOS is: furniture and objects designed by Sophie Gelinet and Cedric Gepner, a couple from Paris, whose main ambition is the satisfaction of a job well done. HAOS is: the desire to create an aesthetic statement based on sculptural shapes with refined and minimalist lines. HAOS stands for: a philosophy of slow design that translates into deliberately limited quantities and compulsive attention to detail. HAOS stands for: the highest quality materials selected with great care, shaped by the best European craftsmen and assembled by hand in our Parisian workshop.

In 2017, HAOS wrote the front page of its history with its lighting collection, an undeniable illustration of its philosophy: precise workmanship, which is expressed in a minimalist style. Ceramic cylinders, brass and blown elements together form table lamps, ceiling lamps and wall lamps. The ceramic parts are handcrafted in Normandy, the brass is molded outside Paris, on early 20th century spinning machines, and the glass spheres are orally blown and sandblasted near London.

HAOS then took two years to design and find suitable craftsmen to make a second collection: a bench and a stool that can be used as a side table. Matt cherry structures are complemented by hand-made glossy ceramic seats and a selection of cushions. A nod to a mid-century French design with a HAOS accent, produced in Lisbon and Porto and assembled in Paris.
