Inspired by Maxalto
Maxalto was founded in 1975 by combining industry and quality handicrafts. In the same year, the actual production plant was built, and the architects Afra and Tobia Scarpa launched the entire Maxalto collection, which was signed by them until 1992. Their home furniture concept was soon recognized as a benchmark of Italian design. Their goal was to create a collection of noble furniture, the strength of which is a raw material entirely made in Italy: wood. At the time of extensive experimentation with materials, the choice of wood was bold and unconventional. The entire Maxalto collection bears the footprint of Tobia Scarpa, who combines the search for iconic items and the pursuit of a modern environment where the geometric simplification of forms is combined with the refined quality of creation, thanks to craftsmanship techniques.
Maxalto furnishings; noble materials worked out down to the last detail The architect Tobia Scarpa, whose imprint is visible throughout the Maxalto collection, creates objects from noble materials using wood. Well-finished and elegant, such products are the result of masterful craftsmanship. The sofas in this collection come in two sizes: more compact with a low or high seat cushion, as in the case of the Febo 2-seater sofa; more generous as in a fabric three seater sofa. The series is completed by two armchairs also available with low or high backrests, such as the Febo armchair by designer Antonio Citterio.
