Inspired by Mobeli

The term Mobeli comes from the phrase "MObility BEyond Limits", which means "mobility across all borders." This is how the creators of the name wanted to describe the task of the Mobeli system: handles and systems supporting people with limited mobility. Easy operation, great versatility and user safety are always the main stars of all our products.

In 2009, Mobeli's development team was able to present the first handle with a safety display that constantly checks the state of the vacuum and thus controls the force holding. Enthusiasm for development, consistently tested quality and always an open ear to our customers - this is what makes Mobeli what it is: an innovative original. The international REHACARE Düsseldorf 2000 trade fair was the starting signal for the new product group "Mobile holders for vacuum assembly" developed by ROTH. As a medical product of the MOBELI® brand, they were then tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with DIN EN 12182 for "aid". Due to the worldwide use as a support for personal hygiene, the group of movable handrails has been included in the international standard ISO 17966: 2016 "Personal care aids supporting the user - General requirements and test methods". It also describes an important basic requirement for mobile grips: “Suction grips must be equipped with a safety indicator. For example a display that shows the residual force (= maximum user weight). This indicator, which shows the residual force or the holding force of the handle at the attachment point, can be loaded with a certain maximum user weight depending on the handle. The maximum user weight is determined individually for each handle. See pages 8 and 9 for more information. The handles have been tested at rated load plus an additional safety margin (50% safety margin) for 60 seconds. If a handle with a rated load of 75 kg was approved, it was actually loaded with a force of 112.5 kg in the test. Movable handrails should be used to assist with natural movement (e.g. getting up from the toilet) and not to support the entire body weight. This standard specifies the following test methods: Movable handles are tested at 75% of the maximum user weight. The dynamic test is performed at 40% of the maximum user weight in 22,000 test cycles (roughly equivalent to a 6-year use load in residential / nursing institutions).

Due to this change, we now use the new term Maximum Standard User Weight Definition (ISO 17966: 2016 standard). Due to the changed test conditions, for example, our double handle (1400225 S), which was previously marked with a nominal load of 75 kg, is now marked with a maximum user weight of 100 kg. MOBELI Mobile Grips are compliant with the Class I Medical Device Directive 93/42 / EEC.

Mobile Grips

The mobile grips can be quickly and easily attached and just as easy to remove. Both suction cups with a diameter of 120 mm can be simply pressed against an even, non-porous surface, activate the vacuum cradle - ready and many other helping "hands" complement the Mobeli system in a reasonable way. By inserting an articulated or angular connector between the suction cup and the handle, the field of application of all movable telescopic handles can be significantly extended. Various angles can be achieved and maximum positioning flexibility is achieved. The Mobeli safety rocker constantly monitors the negative pressure. If the warning block is recessed into the lever, the contact force is correct and the handle can carry the maximum load in all directions. If the warning piston rises and the red edge of the swing becomes visible, loosen and reattach the Mobeli handle. This means that the Mobeli grips are also suitable for people with visual impairments, as the raised warning rocker can be easily felt in the event of a vacuum loss. This visual and tactile (two-sensory principle) detection meets the protective objectives of DIN 18040: 2010.

We have developed the telescopic holder so that you can attach the holder independently of the plate grid. The handle has a standard diameter of 35mm and a telescopic range of 24mm. Like all metal parts of the Mobeli system, the quick-release fastener is made of stainless steel.

Mobeli aids are ideal for travel, i.e. they can be quickly and easily assembled and just as easy to remove, they are light and take up surprisingly little space in luggage. The internal locking of the Mobeli suction cup and the suction head results in a much higher shear force. Two (or four in the case of the Quattro) 120 mm suction cups made of particularly malleable rubber also stick to slightly structured, non-porous surfaces of bathroom and toilet tiles. The particularly large vacuum volume of the Mobeli suction cup ensures that the handle stays in place for a long time.
