Inspired by Valerie_Objects

valerie_objects is an Antwerp-based design company, initiated by Axel Van Den Bossche (CEO of Serax) and Artistic Director Veerle Wenes (owner of the Valerie Traan Gallery in Antwerp), bringing together their professional and personal taste for all that is good and beautiful.

valerie_objects: Mission
By allowing designers, architects and artists to translate their distinctive style into tangible objects, valerie_objects has become a unique project with one clear mission: to restore the aesthetic meaning of the tools and objects we use every day . These are not empty words. The project made its debut by breaking the hardest nut that several designer brands have dared: cutlery. Maarten Baas (NL), Koichi Futatsumata (JPN), Muller Van Severen (BE) and three others have re-interpreted these everyday tools and showed that knives, forks and spoons do not necessarily have to be in the shape of classic cutlery.

The cutlery was followed by collaboration with these and other creators, such as award-winning designer Chris Kabel (NL), internationally acclaimed Robbrecht en Daem Architecten (BE), surreal artist DD Trans (BE ) and minimalist textile designers from TheAlfredCollection (BE).

Design duo Muller Van Severen was one of the first to sign a contract with valerie_objects and remains a very important partner to this day. The couple Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen are considered to be one of the most image-defining European design teams today. Their elegant objects seem to be thought spontaneously and effortlessly.

Although valerie_objects has outgrown its life as a side project to become a young but mature global design platform, the philosophy remains the same: presenting everyday tools and objects with unique appearance. This vision has recently led to a collaboration with the fantastic Studio Wieki Somers (NL), narrative designer Maarten De Ceulaer (BE), experimental Sigve Knutson and Thomas Ballouhey (NO) and the phenomenal Nendo (JPN), known all over the world. for giving minimalist design a '!' - twist.

The designers are curated by co-founder and art director Veerle Wenes. He intuitively selects artists who stand out with a clear signature; designers whose style is instantly recognizable, whether it's a table or a kettle.

With them, valerie_objects strives for lasting and productive collaboration. On the one hand, the label supports and disseminates the individual ideas of the designer.

valerie_objects: Collections
valerie_objects creates thematic collections for which both collaborators and external designers are asked to create new objects.

valerie_objects understands the designer's desire to develop durable, distinctive style, as well as the consumer's willingness to contact a patiently selected object. The label stands for unique yet affordable creations, intended for everyday use. Many owners develop a special relationship with the selected property; they become more attached to it as it becomes part of their personal history.
