INSPIRED BY ACHILLE SALVAGNI
Achille Salvagni runs her eponymous, multidisciplinary and award-winning architectural and design firm with offices in Rome, London and New York. A company specializing in creating sophisticated residential and yacht interiors, known for its excellent design. Although a determined modernist, Salvagni's work consistently carries the weight of history - not in overt references, but in its material wealth, impeccable craftsmanship and deeply layered narrative, which results in both philosophical and romantic creativity. Growing up in Rome, he was greatly influenced by his history and design heritage - materials, patina, architectural heritage and especially the 1920s and 1930s which he sees as a period where Italian designers looked to the future while analyzing after. This philosophy is evident in everything Salvagni designs.
Salvagni takes a very personal approach, creating an atmosphere that imbues beauty and tranquility. He perceives each interior design as an opportunity to make the client's vision come true and raise him beyond his expectations. He and his team of experts work closely with customers, professionals and craftsmen to do just that. With passion for its work, the company fosters an atmosphere of creativity in this professional environment. The high level of personal service combined with respect for valuable resources, costs and time distinguishes the company's relationship with its customers. Its elegant interiors can be found all over the world, including residences in New York, London, Mumbai, Miami, Palm Beach, Paris and Rome. Its yacht interiors enjoy annual recognition, consistently winning top awards at the World Superyacht Awards and Cannes Yachting Festival, as well as hailing it the Robb Report Yacht of the Year.
In 2013, Salvagni founded Achille Salvagni Atelier, a studio producing his limited edition furniture and lighting. In the same year, his work was introduced to the US market by the leading design gallery, Maison Gerard in New York, where his work is still on display. Benoist F. Wire, owner of Maison Gerard, describes Achille as "a rare designer variation that has not really been seen since the mid-20th century. Works in the tradition of the great masters Jean-Michel Frank and Jules Leleu. It has a 21st century perspective and a clear point of view thanks to its design, use of materials and finishes that make everything it touches masterful. In 2015, its flagship Atelier was opened, presenting its limited editions in biennial thematic presentations. His work can also be seen in Giustini / Stagetti Galleria O in his native Rome.
Its limited editions can be found in the collections of luminaries from the world of fashion, business, entertainment, music and art, and its key works have achieved remarkable results at respected international auctions. Salvagni's work can be seen in international publications including FT's How to Spend It, Architectural Digest, Departtures, Robb Report, Galleries, Wall Street Journal, and Sotheby's Magazine. He was named one of the creative minds of Galerie Magazine, made an A Elle Decor list and was named one of the Top 100 Designers of the Year in a special issue of AD Collector magazine. In the fall of 2019, Rizzoli International published Achille Salvagni, the first monograph of his work by the eminent design journalist Pilar Viladas. In 2021, Surfacechose Salvagni will be featured among the selected architects and designers on The List.
