INSPIRED BY MAGIS

Magis is an Italian company specializing in the design, production and sale of furniture, accessories and accessories. The company was founded in 1976 in Motta di Livenza, in the Treviso area, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit and vision of Eugenio Perazza, who was called by the wallpaper "the bible of trends" one of the most influential trend makers in this sector at a global level. The success of Magis is based on its core values, which include Made in Italy excellence and family management, which enables the creation of synergies with all employees, partners and designers. In fact, Magis has always worked hand in hand with world-renowned designers such as Stefano Giovannoni, Konstantin Grcic, Marcel Wanders, Naoto Fukasawa, Philippe Starck, Zaha Hadid to name some of them, but has always been open to collaborating with young designers. Jean-Marie Massaud and Jerszy Seymour made their debut on the design scene thanks to the possibilities offered by Magis. The company has a heterogeneous product catalog with a strong personality and a rich history to tell, focused on the home environment and the contract sector. From seats to colorful home accessories, all products are of the highest quality and some have become design icons and are also exhibited in permanent collections at museums such as MoMA in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Pompidou Center in Paris .

Magis: iconic collections that mark history Since then, a long list of successes has marked the history of Magis. Since then, the goal of this company is to produce products that are available to large segments of the international market, no one ruled out. Therefore, in 2004 in Salone di Milano, Magis dedicated the entire collection to children aged 2 to 5, entitled Me too. Colorful and fun, it was developed in collaboration with renowned designers and pedagogical experts. A complete collection tailored to children, their world and its diversity. Puppy and Trioli, both by Eero Aarnio and awarded with Compasso d'Oro, are iconic products that reflect the company's full attention to the world of children. Alongside the classic lines, the "Fuoritema" line emerged as a creative bridge between different worlds, such as pets, which Michael Young looked at at "Magis Dog House" in 2001. In 2010, Magis moved to its headquarters in Torre di Mosto (VE), in a complex of almost 100,000 m², it also included a 3,500 m² showroom, which displays all the creations that marked the company's endless development in the world of design . From Konstantin Grcic's One collection, to Stefano Giovannoni's Bombo stool, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec's Steelwood chair, and Thomas Heatherwick's Spun garden chair, awarded with the Compasso d'Oro. In more recent history, the time has come for the productive Konstantin Grcic with his collection of Brut sofas to receive the IF Design Award. The innovative lacquered cast iron construction is characterized by an extremely light and airy construction, at the same time capable of expressing itself. The seat is made of expanded polyurethane velvet cushions, and the back consists of a straight cylinder. Both parts are available with Kvadrat, Torri Lana or Glamor fabric cover.

Everyday items interpreted by Magis Today Magis looks like an international laboratory for design experiments, both in terms of content and technological innovation . Its identity is built around the high technological profile of serial production. The reinterpretation of ordinary objects, even those less sophisticated, is characterized by the innovative use of plastics. Magis is indeed the first company in the world to use pneumatic forming technology to print plastic items.
An example of the application of this technique, which requires some virtuosity in design, are the Milà Jaime Hayon chairs and the stackable Air-chair garden chair designed by Jasper Morrison, along with its folding version of the Folding Air-chair.
In Magis products, plastic and metal blend impeccably with each other, being the perfect synonym for combining craftsmanship with industrial technology, function and aesthetics. An example of this marriage is the popular Mariolina chair designed by Enzo Mari in 2002, inspired by a design from the 1950s, with a polypropylene seat and back resting on a powder coated steel frame. Magis has long been successfully experimenting with the evaporation of various materials, some of which are unusual, such as the first Konstantin Grcic chair with a plastic-coated die-cast aluminum seat resting on a cement base, or in Marcel Wanders' Cyborg chair, with a pneumatically molded polycarbonate seat and a wicker backrest.
There is also room for wood in the Magis catalog, for the sophisticated Butch-The Wild Butch table by Konstantin Grcic, with tapered legs made of natural beech wood, a polypropylene foil top with HPL or the amazing Steelwood chair by Ronan & amp; Erwan Bouroullec, which combines harmonious and airy materials such as solid wood and stainless steel foil. Its recycled polypropylene products are the hallmark of Magis. This is the case, for example, with the Bell Chair, designed by Konstantin Grcic and included in the 2020 catalog.
