Description

Nh continues the exploration of the dynamic interaction of expertise, detail, materials, form and light that Neri&Hu are developing with Artemide.The nh1217 table-top version is designed as a simple, versatile, practical device that can be laid down or hung. The ball of white blown glass slides on a ring of brushed brass, allowing it to assume different positions and to freely adjust and direct the shade. The frame becomes a support, a hook to hang the unit on the wall or a handle to promote interaction with light.
Starting from this first element, Neri & Hu develop a series of structures that bring light into a space. After a wall version and two pendants with linear support elements presented in 2018, the family expands with more complex structures that accommodate spheres of different sizes. The glass sphere with hook is declinable in three diameters (14, 22,35 cm). The new structures draw curved geometries and create a graphic balance of elements on which the luminous spheres can move freely and carry light to different places. The chosen materials are a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, and an expression of responsible and sustainable design, which is also confirmed by the use of energy-efficient LED sources.
Like all projects designed by Neri&Hu, nh offers a reinterpretation of oriental culture and tradition with a continuous contemporary approach. The nh is operated intuitively as a reference for the use of lanterns and allows the freedom to create countless lightscapes. It is an essential, versatile piece, suitable for illuminating a variety of contexts in a simple and poetic way.
The surprising lightness and elemental movements of nh create a landscape of elements that generate - individually or in combination with each other - a non-static, balanced composition characterized by an elegant matching of colors and materials.
